Six young men set out for a journey across the Bay of Bengal from Kolkata to Port Blair (Andaman Islands) in a tiny boat without a canopy, un propelled & unescorted.
They started on 16th January, 2013 from Kolkata and touched the shore of Port Blair on 3rd February, 2013, tossing and bumping on the strong mighty waves and battered by the strong north wind. The boys have done it by their sheer guts, skill and wit.
This event was a Rowing and Wind sailing Expedition organized by Sea Explorers’ Institute to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The message of the Expedition was ‘To cross thousand obstacles and to advance and proceed forward.’ – this was what  Swamiji wanted to teach the youth.
The Expedition was sponsored by Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of India and supported by Indian Navy.
