Expedition Brief Report
Eight young explorers of the Institute participated in the expedition held in West Sikkim. The expedition was of 12 days duration from 1st October 2010 and ending from 12th October 2010.
The first phase was Trekking from Uttaraey â€“ Chewabhanjyang â€“ Phoktey Dara in Sikkim.Â Â Chewabhanjyang pass (10,300 ft ) is on the Indo-Nepal boarder and Phoktey Dara (12,980 ft.) is a unique hill top to witness the panoramic view of Mt. Everest and several other peaks.
The second phase viz. Rafting expedition started from Mumring (Sikkim) and moving across Tarkhola, Melli was concluded at Coronation Bridge near Siliguri (West Bengal).
After successful completion of the expedition programme, the team returned to Kolkata on 12.10.2010.
