Rowing & Sailing Expedition 2007-2008, Kolkata to Sandheads

The expedition was held from Kolkata to Sandheads and back in a whaler (Indira) boat. A total number of 8 trained young explorers of the Institute (inclusive of one female student) participated in the expedition. The team set out from Kolkata on the 16th January, 2008. Commodore B.R. Sen, Naval Officer-in-charge (West Bengal), Navy Office, Kolkata flagged off the team. On their way, the explorers had to face various nature of obstacles due to stormy wind, rolling waves, rains and very cold weather. The team finally reached Sandheads touching enroute Uluberia, Falta, Diamond Harbour, Kulpi, Hardwood, Kachuberia, Chemaguri and Jambu Dweep. The team sailed back to the Institute on 2nd February, 2008 after completing the expedition successfully.
